Petzl Headlamps born from 50 years of development

Three years before the official creation of the brand, the first Petzl Headlamps were born in 1972. Its founder, Fernand Petzl, was a passionate caver constantly seeking to improve the equipment he used. Based in Crolles, near Grenoble, the brand initially manufactured verticality equipment such as ascenders, descenders, and pulleys. Quickly, the brand also launched its first Petzl harnesses. These harnesses and all the equipment offered by the Grenoble-based company stand out for their quality, as well as the user manuals provided with each product, in the form of drawings and diagrams.

With 50 years of research, creation, and development, the evolution of Petzl headlamps has been constant. New technologies have allowed the brand to design lamps that are increasingly tailored to the needs of users. Since the first lamp dedicated to mountaineering, Petzl has expanded its range to cater to all activities: whether it's ski touring, running, climbing, or trail running, choose from the brand's equipment that suits you best.

Petzl Headlamps, lighter and more powerful than ever

Because for all activities in the dark, it is essential to have good lighting, Petzl offers ranges tailored to everyone's needs. With different features, play with the weight, brightness, power, and battery life of Petzl Headlamps to determine which one you need.

Petzl Classic Headlamps, for everyday activities

The Classic range is based on simplicity and offers hands-free lighting. Lightweight, compact, and easy to use, the headlamps from the Classic range provide close-range lighting for everyday activities: camping, DIY, leisure, travel, emergency… The Tikka lamp, for example, offers a power of 300 lumens and a wide beam for close-range lighting and short movements. Supplied with batteries, it is also compatible with the Accu Core rechargeable battery thanks to its Hybrid Concept design. Weighing just 82 grams, it is barely noticeable and can be attached to any type of helmet with the Uni Adapt mounts or on a bike with the Bike Adapt mounts.

Petzl Active Headlamps, for more versatility

On the other hand, the Active range focuses on power. Compact and multi-beam, Active headlamps ensure comfortable lighting over time. They stand out mainly for the versatility needed in activities such as running, hiking, trekking, camping, or mountaineering. Thus, the Actik Core headlamp offers 450 lumens which, combined with its multi-beam feature, make it ideal for dynamic activities. During group outings, enjoy the red light to preserve night vision and avoid glare. The reflective headband ensures visibility at night. Also equipped with a rechargeable battery, it can be attached to your climbing helmet or your bike. Depending on the lighting level, enjoy a battery life of up to 130 hours on low power.

Petzl Performance Headlamps, intelligence at the service of lighting

At the next level is the Performance range. In addition to power, this collection also focuses on intelligence. Thus, ultra-powerful, the lamps in the Performance range automatically and instantly adjust the lighting to the ambient brightness. They are therefore ideal for dynamic and demanding activities such as trail running, technical mountaineering, and ski touring… The Iko Core headlamp is one of those. Multi-beam and rechargeable, it also features the AirFit headband for even more lightness (72 grams) and balance. The multiple LEDs provide an even distribution of 500 lumens for optimal visual comfort. Versatile, it can be worn around the neck or used as a lantern. Compact, it folds flat and can be carried anywhere, such as in the pocket of your women's Gore-Tex jacket. Another member of the Performance range, the Swift RL headlamp is the most powerful compact lamp from the brand with its 900 lumens. The Reactive Lighting technology automatically adjusts the lighting power to the user's needs.

Petzl Specialized Headlamps, for specific needs

The latest collection from Petzl, the Specialized range focuses on particular activities such as caving, orienteering, and cycling where lighting needs are very specific. The Duo Z2 headlamp has all the features to navigate through rocky cavities! Powerful, waterproof, and robust, it also features the Face2Face anti-glare function that allows you to face someone without blinding them. Its 430 lumens run on batteries, and its waterproof and robust design can withstand both cave water and mud from narrow passages you may encounter. The kind of headlamp to take on all your perilous adventures without fear!
