As a dedicated climber, you are never safe from cuts, strains, or sprains. You know better than anyone that climbing is a physically demanding sport for your fingers, muscles, and body. Therefore, it is essential to take care of yourself. The first thing to do to avoid or worsen an injury is to listen to your body. In case of trauma, always have a first aid kit on hand to limit the damage. Feet, ankles, fingers, ligaments—your entire body is involved.
If you feel pain in a joint, don’t wait until it becomes unbearable to figure out how to treat it! In this situation, choose a proper brace that will provide you with real support. It is important to equip yourself correctly and quickly with suitable materials. Whatever the injury or trauma you’ve experienced, you will surely find what you need to recover and gradually return to climbing. Even if you’re not injured, you can find preventive equipment: a good piece of climbing tape placed correctly will protect your fingers from sharp holds... better to prevent than to cure!
A first aid kit will always be useful during a session on the crag or at Fontainebleau. The climbers from the Hardloop team have selected products that will allow you to extend your climbing sessions despite the wear on your skin and the increasing cuts. Don’t let go of those holds, take care of yourself, and get back to climbing with renewed energy.
