The N°10 Inox from Opinel is nothing less than the traditional, iconic knife of the brand. Its stainless steel blade offers increased durability and makes it a true all-purpose knife. Cutting branches will be as easy as preparing your sandwich. Equipped with the Yatagan blade that made Opinel famous, its efficiency is undeniable. We appreciate its beechwood handle from French forests, which is easy to maintain and protected by varnish. Its Virobloc locking mechanism allows you to keep the knife folded for safe travel or securely open during use. Robust and versatile, the N°10 Inox from Opinel is not designed to be spared.
Sandvik Stainless Steel: Sandvik's modified 12C27 stainless steel, developed for Opinel, is renowned for its sharpness and ease of maintenance. Stainless steel capable of undergoing the heat treatment that gives it good hardness is called martensitic. It has a carbon content of at least 0.40%, which allows for a very satisfactory edge without being susceptible to corrosion.
Yatagan Blade: The traditional Opinel blade is called the Yatagan blade. Its shape is inspired by a Turkish saber, with an upward curve. The blade is ground according to an exclusive convex profile that ensures the blade's robustness and allows for effective re-sharpening.
Handle: Beech is the most commonly used wood for Opinel handles. Sourced from French forests, it is hard, durable, and easy to work with. With a homogeneous appearance, its light color ranges from yellow to pink. It is recognizable by the presence of numerous small dark lines. The handle is varnished to be better protected against moisture and dirt.
Safety Ring: Invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel, the Virobloc safety ring equips all folding knives from N°06 onwards. Cut from stainless steel, the Virobloc consists of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade in the closed position (safety in transport).
