Ultra-versatile, the new version of the Viper Ice Axe from Black Diamond has been designed to meet the demands of climbers who are undeterred by any weather conditions.
This ice axe is thus easy to handle, easy to anchor, and highly wear-resistant. Comprehensive, it is dedicated to modern winter mountaineering. It features a lightweight hydroformed shaft starting from a single piece of aluminum extending to the handle for robustness and high-performance responsiveness.
The adjustable FlickLock® slides along the shaft and serves as a hand rest or an auxiliary handle for climbing icefalls or mixed climbing. We appreciate its streamlined and modular head that allows for easy blade changes and the choice between blade and adze. The head of the Viper ice axe is here in the adze version (Adze).
The Viper features an ultra-robust titanium blade that ensures excellent wear resistance in challenging terrain. We know in advance that you won't stay close to the ground with a 50 cm UIAA-certified ice axe as durable and versatile as this one!
