Read more +I had a Montane Featherlite down hooded jacket for years until the zipper broke. Upon researching, I settled on the RAB Electron Pro because of the shell fabric, down loft (800 - more than my old Montane) and fill weight (again more than my Montane = warmer). I don't know why jackets with 850 or more fill weight of down always have to have a 10D or 7D ultralight / ultra-tearable shell fabric. The Electron has 20D Pertex Quantum...good enough for me (I have a wind shirt with same material that I crashed with on my bike. I got two broken ribs, my wind shirt barely a scratch and a small hole that thanks to rip-stop hasn't gotten bigger). The fit is as described. I am 185cm, 92 kg, not athletic build anymore but also not pudgy and the large fits perfectly. My chest measurement is about 110 cm. I could fit a light middle layer underneath, but nothing big and bulky: that's exactly how I wanted it. The fact that it was on sale as well just made the deal even sweeter.
